Yellowstone History
by Jack Davis

We are Jack and Susan Davis. The name of our website is Yellowstone History. This site is a work in progress and will change as we add new information and edit posted information. Our objective is to share the knowledge and expertise we have acquired over the years relating to the history of Yellowstone National Park. The perspective we bring to Yellowstone’s history is unique and based on our personal experience. Much of the information we have acquired comes from our background as antique collectors and dealers. We will discuss this in more detail in the articles we will be posting.
The articles on this site will be illustrated with vintage images from our personal collection. Many of the photographs and artwork we use include rare and hard-to-find images. We acquired these over several decades and look forward to sharing them with you. Some of our articles will come with PowerPoint presentations converted to PDF files.
Our objective is to be educational and entertaining. We have conducted business with more than 30 national parks and monuments since the 1980s. Susan and I were members of the advisory board of the Yellowstone Park Foundation for 4 years. We are consultants to the Heritage and Research Center, where our private Yellowstone collection is available for research. We organized and hosted the only national park antiques and postcard show in the country from 1993-1998. We are authorities on national park antiques and collectibles, specializing in Yellowstone National Park.
The history of Yellowstone National Park is a reflection of the history of America to a large extent. The history of America has had a profound and far-reaching influence on the park including the economy, technology, politics, wars, and numerous other factors. We hope our interpretation and individual perspective will add to your understanding and appreciation of Yellowstone National Park.
Thank you for your interest,
Jack and Susan Davis
